I would like to make people aware of my HORRIBLE experience with Farrell Hair Replacement. I had a very bad experience with them and it is my understanding that I am not alone in this experience. I went to Farrell for assistance with my thin hair. When I went to them my hair was thin, but it was not falling out and I did not have any bald spots. I had worn hair extensions for 15 years and the extensions never pulled my hair out, caused traction alopecia, or gave me any bald spots. I had a detailed consultation as well as numerous conversations with Farrell staff explaining what I wanted to accomplish with a hair replacement system. I looked to them for guidance in what could and could not be accomplished with their product. They represented to me that they could do whatever I wanted without limits. I explained to them I wanted a sleek, professional look which maximized the usage of my own hair. I wanted something that was small and undetectable. They informed me to accomplish that look, I would be required to shave. They stated that the other type of replacements and attachment methods could potentially cause traction alopecia. An integration unit would require monthly maintenance and the pulling could cause traction alopecia and the clip method of attachment would do the same. They NEVER informed me that their systems would cause this. They made me two units that they claimed would last for 3-4yrs for the pair. They also informed me that I would be able to save money overall because I would not have monthly fees associated with attachments, as they stated the majority of their clients perform their own attachments. In spite of very detailed descriptions including pictures of what I wanted they made me two huge full cap systems. I believe they did this so they could charge me significantly more. If they had made what I wanted it would have been about 2,500 less than what they ended up charging me. The systems also did not fit properly as their employee made the mold over my micro extensions. When I asked him if this was appropriate to do he reassured me that everything would be fine and that the systems would fit perfectly. The systems were not only too big in terms of what I wanted, they were also too big for my head. They did not fit properly and as a result the constant rubbing and pulling caused severe traction alopecia on one side of my head and less severe on the other. Additionally their systems were falling apart even as I left their salon. One of the systems is not even useable any longer and I wore it only twice for a total of six weeks. I informed them every step of the way what was happening. I had to leave one system there when I left the salon as it had excessive fraying of the front lace, had large bald spots and the knots were dark and showing. When they returned the system to me, they "repaired" it by adding cheap quality hair that did not match the rest of the system. They did not fix the lace or the knots. The system I was wearing for one month, when removed was falling apart and it had caused traction alopecia after only one month. I was instructed by Farrell to find a salon in my area to assist me with all the issues I was having as there was no way I could repair it myself nor attach it as it was too big for me. I sent the system as per their instructions back to them for repairs as it was still under warranty. They RETURNED it to me, un repaired stating that they did not have the hair to replace it and would not for quite a long time. They instructed me to have it repaired at a salon here, at my own cost, even though it was still under warranty. They did offer to make me new systems, but I no longer trust them to live up to their word. I have now spent close to 9,000. for a product that is virtually unusable and caused severe damage to my already thin hair. I also no longer want to do business with them for that reason as well as when I asked them to live up to their end of our agreement, they either did not fix the problem or made it worse. Why should I have to continue to do business with such an unscrupulous company? How could they in good conscience do this to someone who is already suffering severely from a very devastating condition, particularly for a woman? Also I feel I should not have to expend any more funds travelling there in an attempt to make a bad situation better. It was entirely their fault. They did not deliver what they promised and they took my hair out. I requested my money back but received no response. Other consumers that are suffering from hair loss should not be victimized by Farrell Hair Replacement. So be forewarned if you choose to go to Farrell it could happen to you too.
