The title of the above article is a little misleading. No one has conducted a study regarding the effectiveness of saw palmetto on male pattern baldness. The article extrapolates that it would be effective based upon the BPH studies.

The lesson here is get a PSA baseline before using saw palmetto, or at the very least, tell you doctor you are using it before getting a cancer screening. PSA = Prostatic Specific Androgens
